Facilitating Access to Health Care for All

Why I am a Champion for this Cause

Recently, close friends of ours, celebrated the marriage of one of their daughters. This joyous occasion drew family and friends from near and far. Their other daughter was naturally in Ithaca, from her home down south, for the event. While here she became quite ill and was unable to travel home as planned the day after the wedding. They postponed her flight and took her to the awesome free clinic on Tuesday. There she was diagnosed with an ear infection and strep throat and was prescribed medication. In a few days she was well enough to travel home. This is just one example of approximately 15,000, YES 15,oo0 FREE visits that have been provided to uninsured (or underinsured) LOCAL residents since 2006. In the case I described the visit was for a former resident whose family are lifers in Ithaca. To me this is nothing short of  incredible. This inspires and motivates me. It inspires me to be a new member of the Board of Directors. It motivates me to make a significant monetary donation and to ask you to contribute to this awesome organization. As we all know, nothing is free. While the services provided are free to patients there is obviously a cost to bear. It takes the generosity of you and me to make this work. Please consider a contribution knowing that your act of kindness has a profound effect on the local community. Keep some of the following facts in mind:

In 2012 volunteers donated over 7,000 hours to the clinic. These volunteers include MD’s, Nurses, PA’s, NP’s, CNM’s, Herbalists, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Nutritionists, OT’s and PT’s,  and MSW’s. WOW!!

Almost 1,000 hrs were “donated” by board and committee members.

Almost 600 hrs were  “donated” by Outreach and Education volunteers.

Community Donations accounted for 51% of 2012 Revenue Sources. Your contribution is huge!

I could go on and on. ( Too late, I already did!) . The point is that it takes a tremendous amount of time, energy and resources to provide this priceless service to the local community. This information is contained in the 2012 Annual Report which I will send to you if you like. Better yet, come in to see this amazing and beautiful facility and pick one up.

Please open your heart and your wallet.

Thank you!!
